MAKES 2 SERVINGS / PREP: 5 MINUTES / TOTAL: 5 MINUTES
Making sure you get enough protein per day after surgery is very important and it can get challenging and boring if you just drink the same flavor every single day! Enjoy this shake after dinner to satisfy your sweet tooth and finish off your protein goal for the day.
1 small handful (less than 1 cup) fresh spinach
1 cup low-fat milk 1 scoop (¼ cup) vanilla protein powder
¼ cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
½ teaspoon peppermint extract
3 ice cubes
2 to 3 fresh mint sprigs, for garnish
- In a blender, blend on high speed to combine the spinach, milk, protein powder, yogurt, cocoa powder, peppermint extract, and ice for 3 to 4 minutes, until the spinach is thoroughly pureed and the powders are well dissolved.
- Pour half the shake into a glass, garnish with the fresh mint sprigs, and enjoy.
- Refrigerate any shake you don’t drink or use right away, and reblend prior to serving. Discard any remaining shake after 1 day.
